This position will frequently lead project efforts and provide technical guidance on IT related projects. Your Responsibilities Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to design and develop complex IT infrastructure solutions for the DWFritz global business systems environment. Install, configure and support enterprise-wide and site-specific networks, storage, server hardware, and software solutions that are aligned to business needs. Provide expertise and direction for complex technical activities required for the design, security, installation, integration, as well as ongoing support for IT infrastructure and applications. Develop, maintain and test High Availability and Disaster Recovery designs for networks, technology infrastructures and critical systems. Proactively monitor and maintain systems to maximize the uptime of DWFritz’s IT infrastructure, and respond in a timely manner to problems affecting internal, as well as external clients. Provide 24/7 on-call rotating support for all assigned technologies and systems. Provide back-up coverage to other personnel and systems as needed. Perform network and system troubleshooting to isolate, diagnose and repair problems. Track issues and service requests within ticketing system, coordinate resolution and assist in driving issues to closure. Provide timely follow-through with customers and peers, and escalate high severity issues and chronic problems to appropriate management. Ensure that change and configuration management processes are documented, reviewed, and approved. Research and stay current with IT infrastructure technologies, concepts, practices and procedures, and make recommendations to support DWFritz’s business needs. Plan, implement, monitor and maintain network and application security measures to ensure the protection and integrity of company data and resources. Develop and utilize metrics to proactively address capacity management, network performance and utilization. Provide a technical project management lead role on projects of all sizes from concept to completion using defined project management techniques to capture work effort, timeline, milestones and assigned resources for tracking purposes. Work closely with other staff and contract personnel on projects ranging from site-specific to company-wide scope. Use experience and knowledge to provide mentoring, cross-training and skill development to other members of the team. Perform accurate asset and configuration documentation of IT infrastructure components and applications. Develop, implement, and monitor information systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and legal and regulatory compliance. Your Qualifications Proficiency with current versions of Windows Server and Client operating systems, and Linux platforms. Solid understanding of Networking fundamentals and Information Security concepts. Deep knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Group Policies. Proven advanced knowledge and experience in designing and developing infrastructure solutions across several areas within the storage, server, virtualization, networking, systems administration and disaster recovery technologies. Extensive knowledge in several of the following focused disciplines: Extensive current knowledge and proficiency with design, configuration, optimization and monitoring of network (LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN) devices and traffic as well as administration and configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, controllers and other networking technologies. Implementing and managing enterprise-level VMware and Hyper-V virtualization platforms. Implementing and configuring enterprise FC and iSCSI SAN/NAS storage platforms and data protection solutions. Implementing and managing enterprise-level data replication and application failover technologies in support of business continuity, high availability and multi-site failover strategies. Implementing and managing Microsoft Services (Active Directory, Exchange, SQL, Skype for Business, SharePoint, Systems Center, Remote Desktop, Direct Access, etc.). Extensive experience troubleshooting and isolating network, server and application performance issues at the System Engineer level and the ability to calmly troubleshoot in high-pressure situations, and effectively command control of crisis situations. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills specific to both technical and business audiences. Proven ability to discuss complex IT infrastructure concepts and strategies in simple, clear terms to help drive and influence decision making of business and application owners. Proficiency with PowerShell scripting to streamline repetitive management and administration of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and enterprise application environments. Strong project management skills and experience managing and leading complex projects. Ability to effectively plan and execute projects with minimal oversight. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work on several projects at once individually or as part of a team. Your Education and Experience 10 years of progressive technical experience in designing and maintaining complex and highly available IT infrastructure solutions. Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university, with a technical major, such as computer science preferred; or 10 years related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Microsoft, Cisco, VMware, Dell, EMC and other system or networking related certifications are highly desirable. Experience leading large-scale technical projects and initiatives. Lead engineering and project management teams during estimation and risk assessment to best represent costs for customer defined requirements for 1st development and follow-on systems. Maintain, update, and manage material costs for estimating and volume pricing. Combine sources of information from historical references for actuals on labor and material costs, engineering estimates and risks, to provide and recommend costing and pricing options for sales and engineering management during the proposal phase. Determine ceiling and floor prices and recommend appropriate levels based on previous project wins, competition, segmentation, customer opportunity.
