Building Maintenance Engineer - Sunnyvale

RESPONSIBILITIES Utilizes advanced skills to perform complex preventive maintenance and corrective repair of buildings, industrial systems, vehicles, equipment and grounds. Working under limited supervision, monitors building system operations and performance. Utilizes several trade skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating and cooling. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Complies with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agency and Company directives related to building operations and work safety.Inspects building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure operation of equipment is within design capabilities and achieves environmental conditions prescribed by client.Oversees and inspects the work performed by outside contractors. Contracted work includes landscaping, snow removal, remodeling, HVAC, plumbers, and cleaning.Performs assigned repairs, emergency and preventive maintenance. Completes maintenance and repair records as required.Reviews assigned work orders. Estimates time and materials needed to complete repair. Orders necessary materials and supplies to complete all tasks.Maintains an energy management program to ensure measures are taken to operate all systems in the most efficient manner to keep operating costs at a minimum. Maintains the building lighting system, including element and ballast repairs or replacements. Performs welding, carpentry, furniture assembly and locksmith tasks as needed.Responds quickly to emergency situations, summoning additional assistance as needed.Performs other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. May provide informal assistance such as technical guidance and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate work and assign tasks.QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Additional certification in one or more of the following: electrical, mechanical, HVAC and refrigeration systems, process controls, mechanical power transmissions, painting, plumbing, carpentry or engine repair. Certifications/licenses as may be required by local or state jurisdictions.COMMUNICATION SKILLS Ability to comprehend and interpret instructions, short correspondence, and memos and ask clarifying questions to ensure understanding. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, co-workers, and/or supervisor. Ability to effectively present information to an internal department and/or large groups of employees.FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE Requires basic knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate simple figures such as percentages.REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situation where only limited standardization exists. Requires intermediate analytical skills.OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES Uses personal computer and / or PDA for work order system, email, ESS and training. Basic skills with Microsoft Office Outlook. Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders and ability to lift / carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more. In-Home Usage Tester (Product Tester from home) Part-time Presently we're recruiting Product Testers (from home) in several US cities to expand our private network of In-Home Usage Testers (IHUT) to fulfill upcoming contracts with national and international companies. We guarantee 15-20 hours per week with an hourly pay of between $25/hr. and $45/hr., depending on the In-Home Usage Test project. No experience required. American Consumer Panels® is a consulting firm that specializes in product testing and product development work. We design and conduct In-Home Usage Testing (IHUT) locally and nationally to provide actual user feedback to companies and market research firms to evaluate products, packaging, related product instructions and more. We leverage our network of private panels (In-Home Usage Testers) to provide product testers to companies for evaluating the in-home experience with a wide variety of products to ensure proper product certification and greater market access. Please note that although this job can be done from home 95% of the time, very occasionally In-Home Product Testers may be asked to visit the client's office, laboratory, store, warehouse or factory for training or meetings (visits are local and scheduled at no more than 20 minutes drive from the In-Home Usage Tester address). These optional visits are also paid by the hour. During your application process, we will determine your consumer profile and establish what products would be suitable for you to test according to your demographics, lifestyle, consumer behavior, skills, hobbies and ability. Research questionnaires are used to identify and target certain types of consumers, to ensure the right participants are engaged and to achieve the representative sample needed. Participation in these product testing and consumer panels is always free, secure and private. In-Home Usage Testing is a quick, easy and fun way to make extra cash by telling big brands what you think about their upcoming products and services in the American market. Main duties: Sign and return non-disclosure agreements before the product to be tested is shipped. Individuals who complete the required documents will have the products sent to their homes. Once the product is received for In-Home Usage Test (IHUT), the Product Tester must take care of the product being tested and use it responsibly. Read and strictly follow the In-Home Usage Test Daily Schedule provided with each product testing project. In-Home Usage Test Daily Schedules may include tasks to do such as: unpacking, reading instructions, journal entries, online or mobile feedback, usage of product for certain amount of time, writing reviews, taking pictures, etc. Properly document In-Home Usage Test as instructed in the In-Home Usage Test Daily Schedule. Types of documentation commonly used for In-Home Usage Tests are snapshots, audio recordings, videos and Product Journals. Attend Skype meetings or conference call meetings with Account Managers, Brand Managers, Research Managers, Product Managers or small business owners to offer ongoing product usage feedback. These short virtual meetings may take place 2-3 times per week and are paid by the hour also. Some In-Home Usage Tests projects may require participants to use MFour’s Mobile In-Home Use Test Technology (cutting edge smartphone technology to capture Point-of-Emotion® insights to gain unparalleled depth of responses). Paid Product Testing is done from home 95% of the time, but very occasionally paid Product Testers may be asked to visit the client's office, laboratory, store, warehouse or factory for training or meetings. These visits are paid by the hour also. There are times when the product testing may be discussed in a private chat room that is opened by the market research group. Write reviews as requested in the In-Home Usage Test Daily Schedule for each project. Review requirements can vary, however, the standard requirement is a written review, photos of the reviewer with the product and a video review. Education and Knowledge: Bachelor’s Degree in Safety Engineering, Science or Management (recommended). Candidates with professional certification (CSP, ASP,CIH, etc), a plus. Experience: 3+ years’ experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety compliance responsibilities, within a manufacturing environment. Competencies: • Core competencies include strong interpersonal, communication and training skills. • Must possess excellent planning, administrative and organizational skills. • Strong conflict resolution, data analysis and interpretation skills. • Good computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and database management. • Ability to manage several projects at once. • Ability to work in a team environment. Assist Application Owners on the environment issues; determine if issues are caused by Infrastructure or Application. Communicate with legal team as required: keeping them informed of incident progress, notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages Participate in a 12x7 on-call engineer rotation supporting our core services. Will handle escalations from the US and India Operations Teams as well as the Legal eDiscovery team. Build PowerShell and DSC scripts to automate the environment configuration. Develop in-depth knowledge of the eDiscovery service catalog, tools for Self-Help and Infrastructure Automation to reduce the ticket workload & speed up user ticket resolution. Work collaboratively with peers in Virtualization, Application engineering team and Legal teams for cross-platform interoperability tasks. Embrace working in a fast-paced environment and handling multiple projects/issues in occasionally high-pressure situations. Basic Qualifications 6+ years in IT specifically related to management of Windows Server systems (Windows 2012, 2016) hosted in a virtual and/or cloud environment including Clusters. 4+ Years managing SQL infrastructure, including cluster administration, SQL reporting and Auditing. Experience supporting Windows server systems in an environment with Windows, Mac and Linux clients. Experience in core protocols such as TCP/IP, SSH, SMTP, LDAP, DNS, OSI Layer, networking concepts, VLANs, Firewall, ACLs and Load-balancers. Experience configuring and troubleshooting n-tier applications utilizing a least privilege model. Work with business units to translate needs into technical requirements to design, implement, and support applications utilizing recommended best practices. Preferred Qualifications Experience maintaining High-Availability (HA) MSSQL server environments including working with 3rd party vendors or stakeholders to onboard databases, create maintenance plans including backup/recovery/DR, and tune for performance. Experience securing Windows OS, MSSQL Servers, and Windows Applications/Services. Experience with modern configuration management tools such as Puppet, Ansible, Salt or PowerShell DSC is nice to have. Experience with cloud and hybrid compute architecture including Microsoft Azure. Experience participating in IT compliance audits (PCI, SOX, etc). Experience supporting Legal, Internal Audit or Governance tools and infrastructure Experience operating Linux systems RHEL, Debian in a virtual environment is a plus. Experience operating and supporting relativity, encase, f-response, providing litigation/investigation support, investigation digital forensics, incident response. Strong Windows Cluster and SQL experience needed supporting an eDiscovery Environment. Scripting and Tooling is a big plus.
