Key Objectives of the role: Responsible for qualification of product(s) in a lab setting following standard operating procedures. Will utilize basic laboratory techniques, calculations, materials measurement, operation of laboratory equipment and record keeping necessary to manufacture products. Will perform radioactive assays and analysis, TR-FRET assays, fluorescence based assays, and protein concentration assays. Responsible for Batch Data Records, notebooks, customer reports and work order documents. Utilize specialized technical knowledge and skills to make detailed observations and analyze data to ensure within operating parameters. Advise manager of factors that may affect quality of product. Suggest options/ideas for corrective actions. Maintain equipment, product inventories and related records as assigned. Note variances on manufacturing documents; audit and evaluate process documents and propose revisions. Complete, distribute and file records as required in accordance with Document Control Practices. Identify potential issues in the qualification process; report findings to team management and members for resolution or participate in troubleshooting. Cross Training Potential Responsible for manufacturing product(s) in a lab setting following standard operating procedures. Will utilize basic laboratory techniques, calculations, materials measurement, operation of laboratory equipment and record keeping necessary to manufacture products. Will perform column purification/ chromatography, buffer preparation, SDS-Page Analysis, Western Blotting, and other protein characterization techniques. Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (BS) in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or other related discipline. Experience in a manufacturing or research laboratory. Proficiency in the use of scientific laboratory techniques, equipment and materials: Radioactive Kinase Activity Assay TR-FRET Assay Fluorescence based assays Polyacrylamide and Agarose Gel Electrophoresis Western Blot Protein Concentration determination assay Buffer Preparation XL Fit Analysis Bench work both a lab environment and manufacturing facility with specialized equipment. Perform assembly and processing per work orders, and variances. Ensure materials i.e. adhesives, hydration solutions, etchants, etc. are requested from the Formulation Lab and available when required. Perform mathematical calculations and data manipulations, which may require the use of a computer or calculator. Notify supervisor when lab equipment requires maintenance and/or calibration. Acquire training designed to enhance job knowledge and growth. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Job Requirements: Must have a High School diploma. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a production environment. Must have previous experience with microscopes and steady hand-eye coordination. Work experience operating Asymtek Dispensemate (or other automated / robotic) equipment a definite plus. Experience in acid etching also a plus but not necessary. Experience at a medical device assembly firm preferred, but not required. QSR / GMP experience or previous training. Must have good English comprehension and communication skills and work well in team environment. Must be able to follow written procedures and verbal instructions and respond well to constructive feedback. Must be able to lift 30 pounds. Good manual dexterity for working with small parts required. Ability to perform repetitive work of high quality. Ability to work around chemicals and solvents. (Must not have any chemical allergies, and must be willing and able to work with and around chemicals.) Good eyesight required for extensive microscope work and membrane operations. Must be willing and able to conform to clean room practices with regard to apparel and personal hygiene. Must be willing and able to perform involved process runs with minimal interruption.
