This position requires a strong technical background, detail-oriented along with the ability to learn engineering concepts.The physical demands of this role require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors when required by the job. You will be responsible for handling road service and repair when needed, performing scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment, performing all types of repair, issuing POs and work orders for all work, and maintaining accurate records of vehicles and inventory. You may also need to monitor fluid/fuel levels, perform monthly OSHA inspections, train other technicians, and test-drive all types of vehicles. To qualify as a Fleet Mechanic for SYGMA, you must have either a two year certificate from college or technical school with minimum of three years related work experience or training, or eight years of on-the-job experience that includes a minimum of five years of repair experience. All Fleet Mechanics must have DOT qualification and a welding & refrigeration certificate. Work is medium to heavy in nature You must be able to occassionaly lift 50 75 lb and require the ability to read at a close distance and at arms length away.
