The position will be responsible for daily maintenance, repair and scheduled inspections of the locomotives in the region, as well as entering data into company maintenance tracking systems. Responsibilities will include trouble shooting, repair, fabrication, working with vendors/suppliers on pricing and parts, planning and scheduling repairs, process improvements and supporting management to create and maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for areas and equipment assigned. The mechanic will be responsible for the completion of the necessary paperwork that is required as well as communicating any maintenance that needs completed to management. This person will also be expected to follow all safety regulations set forth by the company. Mechanic will also be responsible for maintaining a clean work environment. This includes all equipment as well as the facility. The mechanic will be responsible for keeping and turning in the required paperwork for: Maintenance needs, Parts and Service Work orders and Invoices, Safety Documentation. In addition, the mechanic may be asked to perform a wide range of duties within the plant such as operating heavy equipment, and being willing to help wherever needed. Must be able to lift 50 pounds alone and stand a good part of the day. The mechanic will be working in varying weather conditions, in dust and noisy areas. Substantial walking, bending, stooping, lifting or working in awkward or strained positions. Mechanic will be asked to work at other Conrad Yelvington facilities and work overtime as well as some weekends as business needs determine. Primary location: Orlando, FL area.
