Occupational Summary Participate in a variety of duties data collection duties for a research study in elementary schools with ESL and classroom teachers. The Center for Child and Family Policy recently received funding from the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) for an efficacy trial of a teacher professional development (PD) program in elementary schools in North Carolina. This comprehensive teacher PD program provides English as a second language (ESL) and classroom teachers with a framework for collaboration, skills for implementing high-impact instructional strategies, and approaches for incorporating families’ cultural wealth into the classroom. The PD program is based on research supporting teacher PD and includes the DCCS Institute, follow-up application modules, ongoing implementation coaching, and weekly collaboration sessions between the ESL and classroom teachers. This is a part-time position with concentrated work in the schools for about 25 hours of per week for 4 windows of data collection throughout the school year.
