The Scandinavian Consortium for Organizational Research (SCANCOR) seeks a full-time Administrative Services Administrator 1 to serve as the research center's senior administrator. SCANCOR facilitates inquiry in organizational social science among a transnational network of scholars. Its member institutions in Scandinavia and greater Europe support working visits and residencies at Stanford University. SCANCOR also sponsors conferences, workshops, and mentoring opportunities worldwide. The senior administrator position will provide support to the Visiting Scholar and Postdoctoral programs and will report to the faculty directors of both programs. This position is multi-faceted and will be responsible for the intake and onboarding of SCANCOR's visiting scholars and postdoctoral fellows as well handling all other administrative tasks for the organization at Stanford University. This position will play a key role in SCANCOR daily operations and helping us provide the highest levels of administrative support to our community both locally and internationally. What You'll Do: This role will provide a range of program coordination and administrative support to SCANCOR. This position will arrange logistics, provide outreach communication (including the website and Annual Report), manage program budgets and finances (including reimbursement, vendor payments, etc.), and be a creative problem solver to help move the organization forward. Core duties will include: Independently implement, administer and evaluate day-to-day activities of the unit, function or program by identifying and executing tasks and objectives, making recommendations that impact policies and programs, and assigning resources to achieve the goals of the program. Collect and analyze data, create reports, review and explain trends; formulate and evaluate alternative solutions and/or recommendations to achieve the goals of the program or function. Analyze and interpret policies; develop, revise and implement procedures for program or function. Represent the program or function as the key contact and subject matter expert within the department, unit or school. Commit resources and provide information and/or training. May also represent the program or function to external/internal stakeholders and constituencies. Organize and/or participate in outreach activities that may include developing communications and training, planning/promoting events and/or conferences. May participate in development of budgets, monitor, and approve expenditures. May perform limited forecasting and provide recommendations that determine the budget. May direct staff to perform various tasks and assignments.
