Updating faculty and supervisors on the status and outcomes of current issues and document any requests or concerns. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Plan, layout and organize work with minimum supervision. Provide excellent customer service and communication with faculty and staff on the status of projects, equipment installations and repairs. Provide mechanical and electronic support to maintain and repair School of Workforce Development (SWD) equipment including coordinating maintenance activities with faculty, staff, and outside vendors to minimize equipment downtimes and class interruptions. Provide physical and mechanical support for equipment installations and relocations in SWD labs. Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and electronic test equipment. Ability to read and interpret Blueprints, schematics, drawings, troubleshooting guides, repair manuals. Computer skills: proficient in the use of Business application programs (Windows, Word, Excel, Access and Google Apps.). Mental Demands Good verbal and written communication skills. Mental Demands -An understanding of and appreciation for the community college philosophy and student population. -An interest in teaching college-level material to high school students as part of a middle college or dual enrollment program. -An interest in working with diverse student populations, who represent a wide range of age, ethnicity, national origin and ability. -Interest in and willingness to work with changing instructional technologies used in and out of the classroom. -Willingness and availability to work a flexible schedule. -High energy level with enthusiasm and interest in helping and supporting students, staff, and the general public. -Ability to work under pressure while possessing mature judgment and flexibility in regards to interruptions and schedule changes. -Must use good judgment in handling sensitive or difficult situations in a pleasant and professional manner. Physical Demands -Must have the physical capacity for lifting up to 25lbs.
