Position Summary Under the direction of the assigned manager/supervisor, coordinates student success and support related programs, components and activities; assists in the planning, coordination, implementation and delivery of support programs and services associated with the college plans, including the college Student Success and Support Program (SSSP) plan; assists in planning and coordinating follow-up and retention activities for at-risk students including those on probation and dismissal. Assignment Responsibilities •Provides support for assigned college SSSP Plan activities, which may include required steps for priority enrollment, follow up and retention services, and serving on college committees related to student success. •May assist appropriate manager/supervisor in budget development and coordination, and preparation of the required state and district reports. •Assists in conducting program review and strategic planning for the SSSP programs. •Participates in recommending and monitoring systems to provide and track support services to new students. •May train staff to provide student support related services, including but not limited to follow-up and retention activities. •May provide training and oversight of students and temporary classified employees involved in student services activities. •Attends college, district, and departmental meetings in an effort to assist in ensuring coordination of support services, and follow-up activities. •Assists in ensuring compliance with and implementation of student services related regulations, policies, and procedures. •May assist in gathering and maintaining data and statistical information in an effort to ensure appropriate services are provided to students in compliance with district and state regulations, policies, and procedures. •May oversee one or more college programs, including but not limited to: Student Ambassador Program; Freshman Welcome; Summer Success Academy / Summer Bridge; First Year Experience (FYE); Mentor Program; Group Planning Sessions (GPS). •May provide coordination and planning, including but not limited to staffing, logistics, supplies, catering, etc. for assigned activities and events. •Presents extended orientation activities to connect First Time in College (FTIC) students to college programs and services. •Participates in evening and weekend events as needed. •Prepares announcements, newsletters, and other forms of communication regarding SSSP related events, activities, programs and initiatives for dissemination to college personnel and students. •Communicates with and advises students to move them through the Steps to Success and core services of assessment and educational planning. •Assists students in their academic career by providing them referrals and resources to meet their educational and vocational career objectives. •May assist with the development and presentation of professional development activities for faculty and staff to support SSSP. •May develop, coordinate and conduct transition workshops and activities for entering students coming directly from high school. •Performs related duties as required. Special Requirements Minimum Qualifications EXPERIENCE: Two years of related responsible experience in student services on a college campus or in a community agency that provides comparable services to students, or diverse community members. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in a social science or related area. NOTE: Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for up to two years of the required education on a year-for-year basis. Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment. Position Summary The Los Rios Community College District is seeking a pool of qualified applicants for possible temporary part-time faculty teaching assignments. These positions are filled on an as needed basis and are on-going recruitment efforts. Adjunct pools are open continuously and applicants are contacted/hired year round for assignments based on college needs. Teaching assignments may include day, evening, on-line, hybrid, weekend, and/or off campus classes. Assignment Responsibilities General Responsibilities: The adjunct faculty member shall be responsible for the following: teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean; helping students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content; assessing student learning outcomes; maintaining a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in his/her regular teaching field; continuing professional development; utilizing current technology in the performance of job duties; maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position; assisting with articulation and curriculum development and review; serving on college committees and participating in faculty governance including accreditation and student co-curricular activities; assuming other responsibilities as assigned by the area dean; fulfilling other duties and responsibilities of an adjunct faculty member as outlined in the college faculty handbook. Adjunct Head Coach Responsibilities: 1. The adjunct head coach of each intercollegiate team is responsible for every aspect of their program. They shall take an interest in both the academic and athletic endeavors of their student athletes. Each adjunct head coach shall strive to provide the college and the community with a quality athletic program. The adjunct head coach will represent the college, the athletic department, and the community in a positive manner. Adjunct head coaches will be evaluated by the Dean/Athletic Director and must demonstrate program administration responsibility. Annually submitting a request for travel, supplies and equipment to the Dean. This includes pay to officials, entry fees, meal assistance, game management, and lodging. Maintaining an accurate account of all trust account activity and balance of said account. This includes coordinating and directing all sport specific fund raising activities. Reading, understanding and abiding by the current: California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Constitution and Bylaws, the BIG 8 Constitution and Bylaws, the appropriate CCCAA Championship Handbook, the appropriate BIG 8 sport supplement, and the appropriate sport rule book as identified in the CCCAA Constitution and Bylaws. Also adhering to the rules and regulations of Cosumnes River College and the Los Rios Community College District. Establishing regular staff meetings, realistic responsibilities and reliable procedures for assistant coaches. Establishing and maintaining positive public relations with colleagues, college faculty and staff, and community members including, students, parents, the press, the surrounding high schools and other interested parties. Informing program participants (athletes and staff) of team rules including: conditioning; physical exam and athletic training requirements; practice attendance and participation rules; conduct and behavior expectations relative to practice, during competition, on trips, in the classroom, on campus and in the community; appropriate dress; drugs, alcohol and/or tobacco rules; relations with officials and opponents; sport, conference and state decorum rules and regulations; responsibility for actions; academic and athletic counseling requirements; and any other information the head coach and Athletic Director feels is pertinent. Keeping abreast of modern trend, techniques and strategies of coaching. Providing an atmosphere of cooperation with all constituents. Communicating, when appropriate, with campus wide organizations such as: Campus Public Information Officer (PIO), Associated Student Government (ASG), the Connection (school newspaper), the Sports Information Officer (SIO), etc. regarding their program. Cooperating with the Athletic Trainers on eligibility, physical examinations, insurance claims, medical help for injured athletes and respecting the decision by the trainer to hold out an athlete due to injury. Cooperating with the Athletic Counselor and the Study Center Coordinator on academic matters for their athletes. Cooperating with the Athletic Specialists for ordering and monitoring all uniforms and equipment. Reporting scores in a timely manner to all score reporting areas.The Adjunct Head Coach will cooperate with the Sports Information officer in maintaining an accurate website and score reporting as per department policy and CCCAA rules. Recruiting student athletes in the high schools within the recruiting area and adhering to the recruiting rules established by the CCCAA especially in recruiting out-of-area athletes. Scheduling all contests within the guidelines established by the department, CCCAA and the BIG 8 conference. 2. Planning, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating practices, games and related activities giving attention to each player’s mental and physical well-being. Attending all practices, trips and scheduled competitions including evenings and weekends. Head coaches must travel with their teams unless unusual circumstances arise and this must be cleared with the Dean. Practices/Games/Travel – Head Coaches are responsible for their team rules and informing students of behavioral expectations and consequences during practices, games, and travel. Coaches are expected to report behavioral problems to the Athletic Director. Taking responsibility to prepare the staff and each team member for competition.The Head Coach will maintain self-control, provide a model of sportsmanlike conduct in relation to players, officials, staff, spectators and the opponents, in accordance with Big 8 and CCCAA guidelines and rules. Maintaining adequate records, statistics, scores, etc. of game results and student athletes’ participation records and accomplishments. In addition, the Head Coach will promote the student athletes accomplishments when appropriate for awards and recognition. SCC ( Sacramento City College) offers the only aviation program within the LRCCD (Los Rios Community College District). The faculty member will be responsible for keeping all required Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) certificates current and in good standing, as well as maintaining required skills and knowledge applicable to the courses taught. The faculty member will also work closely with the Department Chair and the FAA offices that authorize or approve Sacramento City College’s programs to keep the programs current with FAA regulations and maintain required documentation. Head coaches shall also adhere to the rules and regulations of CRC and the Los Rios Community College District. ● Establishing regular staff meetings, realistic responsibilities and reliable procedures for assistant coaches as well as provide opportunities for assistants to use their talents. ● Establishing and maintaining positive public relations with colleagues, college faculty and staff, and community members including, students, parents, the press, the surrounding high schools and other interested parties. ● Managing their eligibility roster to be accurate at all times. ● Informing program participants (athletes and staff) of team rules including: conditioning; physical exam and athletic training requirements; practice attendance and participation rules; conduct and behavior expectations relative to practice, during competition, on trips, in the classroom, on campus and in the community; appropriate dress; drugs, alcohol and/or tobacco rules; relations with officials and opponents; sport, conference and state decorum rules and regulations; responsibility for actions; academic and athletic counseling requirements; and any other information the head coach and Athletic Director feels is pertinent. ● Keeping abreast of modern trend, techniques and strategies of coaching. This can be achieved by attending clinics, networking with colleagues, and regularly reading professional publications on their sport. Coaches should annually evaluate their present system with their assistant coaches and apply new trends when applicable. ● Providing an atmosphere of cooperation with all constituents. Be receptive to suggestions and give credit to those responsible for success. ● Communicating when appropriate with campus wide organizations such as: Campus PIO, ASG, the Connection (school newspaper), the SIO, etc. regarding their program. ● Cooperating with the Athletic Trainers on eligibility, physical examinations, insurance claims, medical help for injured athletes and respecting the decision by the trainer to hold out an athlete due to injury. ● Cooperating with the Athletic Counselor and the Study Center Coordinator on academic matters for their athletes. In addition, the Head Coach should be invested in the academic success of their athletes, review their grades, and help motivate them toward success. ● Cooperating with the Athletic Specialists for ordering and monitoring all uniforms and equipment. In addition, the Head coach should also have knowledge of current inventory of equipment and uniforms as well as replacement needs. ● Reporting scores in a timely manner to all score reporting areas. The Head Coach will cooperate with the Sports Information officer in maintaining an accurate website and score reporting as per department policy and CCCAA rules. ● Recruiting student athletes in the high schools within our recruiting area. The Head Coach will adhere to the recruiting rules established by the CCCAA especially in recruiting out-of-area athletes. ● Scheduling all contests within the guidelines established by the department, CCCAA and the BIG 8 conference. ● Planning, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating practices, games and related activities giving attention to each player’s mental and physical well-being. ● Attending all practices, trips and scheduled competitions including evenings and weekends. Head coaches must travel with their teams unless unusual circumstances arise and this must be cleared with the Dean. ● Practices/Games/Travel: Head Coaches are responsible for their team rules and informing students of behavioral expectations and consequences during practices, games, and travel. Coaches are expected to report behavioral problems to the Athletic Director. ● Taking responsibility to prepare the staff and each team member for competition. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Legislation passed in 1999 requiring all electricians who work for a C-10 electrical contractor to be certified by the State of California. Regulations from that legislation were put in place in 2002, setting deadlines for all categories of electricians. To perform electrical work for a C10 contractor legally in the State of California, Electrician Trainee applicants must enroll, in a State approved school as an Electrician Trainee AND register with the State of California as an Electrician Trainee, annually, in addition to supervision by a State certified electrician on the job. Position Summary The Los Rios Community College District is seeking a pool of qualified applicants for possible temporary part-time faculty teaching assignments. These positions are filled on an as needed basis and are on-going recruitment efforts. Adjunct pools are open continuously and applicants are contacted/hired year round for assignments based on college needs. Teaching assignments may include day, evening, on-line, hybrid, weekend, and/or off campus classes. Typical instructional assignment will be to provide automotive training to students and technicians. About the American River College Program: This degree prepares the student for entry level employment as a smog and driveability service technician. The program also prepares the student for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification in Engine Repair A1, Automatic Transmissions/Transaxles A2, Electrical A6, Engine Performance A8, Advanced Engine Performance L1 along with the California Enhanced Area (EA) Smog Check License. Upon completion of this program, the student will be able to: ● Identify and implement safety procedures involved in the diagnosis, service and repair of all major automobile and light truck systems. ● Describe the function, operation and characteristics of all major components in the following automotive systems: engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, electrical, air conditioning, emission control and computerized engine controls. ● Identify and follow manufacture standards for proper automobile diagnosis and repair. ● Operate hand and power tools necessary for automobile and light truck repair. ● Operate diagnostic equipment and interpret test results. ● Demonstrate the skills and knowledge to analyze, diagnose, and repair automotive engines, automatic and manual transmissions, suspension systems, braking systems, electrical systems, fuel delivery systems, ignition systems, emissions control systems and computerized engine controls. The courses to complete this program include: AT 100 Technical Basics for the Automotive Professional AT 105 Mathematics for Automotive Technology AT 180 Automotive Data Acquisition AT 110 Automotive Brakes AT 311 Suspension and Steering Systems AT 312 Electrical Systems AT 130 Manual Drive Trains and Axles AT 313 Automatic Transmission and Transaxles AT 314 Automotive Engine Repair AT 310 Heating and Air-Conditioning Systems AT 322 Engine Performance & Electronic Engine Controls AT 315 Advanced Electrical: Engine/Chassis/Hybrid AT 323 Clean Air Car Course Teaching assignment may include day, evening, and weekend classes, on and off campus. Assignment Responsibilities General Responsibilities: The adjunct faculty member shall be responsible for the following: teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean; helping students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content; assessing student learning outcomes; maintaining a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in his/her regular teaching field; continuing professional development; utilizing current technology in the performance of job duties; maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position; assisting with articulation and curriculum development and review; serving on college committees and participating in faculty governance including accreditation and student co-curricular activities; assuming other responsibilities as assigned by the area dean; fulfilling other duties and responsibilities of an adjunct faculty member as outlined in the college faculty handbook. The faculty member will work with the Central Valley New Car Dealers Association and other interested automotive agencies in ascertaining training and recruiting priorities. In addition, assignment will include: Networking with high school counselors and attending high school career days/career fairs to promote automotive programs and employment opportunities. Other responsibilities may include maintaining contacts with area ROPs and AYES campuses, as well as program coordination and articulation with the automotive departments at the Los Rios Community College District and with automotive programs at area high schools. The successful candidate may be responsible for coordination activities; for recruiting students for the program, assisting students in obtaining placement at shops, tracking students’ progress through visits to shops and discussions with the shop foreman. Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and two years of professional experience; OR, any associate degree and six years of professional experience; OR, hold a California Community College Instructor’s Credential in the discipline area; OR, the equivalent. 2.
