Prevention of Cyber Attack Methodologies ( CST 620 ): Explore the theories and practices related to the prevention of cyber attacks. Design, apply, and analyze technological solutions that address countermeasures, encryption, network access control methods, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, and secure systems development. Practice techniques such as software assurance, verification, and validation; virtual network and cloud computing security techniques; and physical security techniques. Examine the nation's complex critical infrastructure industries. Use state-of-the-art tools and technologies in a lab-intensive environment that provide hands-on, real-world experience. Advanced Cyber Exploitation and Mitigation Methodologies ( CST 630 ): Practice intrusion detection and prevention, exploitation, and mitigation in cyberspace. Employ technological solutions that identify, resolve, prevent, and mitigate cyber attacks Utilize network security techniques, monitoring, auditing, intrusion detection and prevention, and ethical penetration testing. Use state-of-the-art tools and technologies in a lab-intensive environment that provide hands-on, real-world experience. The Contractor shall deliver the following Contract Management Plan ndash The Contractor shall prepare draft and final Contract Management Plan specifying the tasks, sub tasks, and approaches to be used to provide the services and products specified including the deliverable documents, analyses, and reports necessary to fulfill the requirements of this SOW. This Plan shall be delivered in draft not later than one week following the award of the Contract. Quality Control Plan ndash The Contractor shall prepare draft and final versions of a Quality Control Plan specifying the tasks, sub tasks, and approaches to be used to ensure adequate quality and integrity of work developed. This Plan shall be delivered in draft not later than one week following the approval of the Contract Management Plan. Program and Project Plans ndash The Contractor shall prepare draft and final versions of specific Program and Project Plans when necessary or as directed that are appropriate for the size and scale of technical efforts being undertaken. These plans shall specify the tasks, sub tasks, dependencies, resource requirements, schedules, and milestone dates required to complete specific technical programs or projects. When approved by the Director of Infrastructure and Operations, these plans shall be used to monitor, control, and report progress, issues, and resource expenditures. These plans shall be updated as required and approved by the Director of Infrastructure and Operations as required to maintain currency with project objectives, activities, and direction. Weekly Contract Status and Progress Review ndash The Contractor shall participate in weekly management review meetings and be prepared to present and discuss the following Activities planned for the week Work and deliverables completed during the period Status of ongoing activities Activities planned for the following period Problems or issues projected or identified Alternatives andor recommended solution(s) for identified or projected problems or issues and Known or projected resource (staff and funding) and schedule impacts. Monthly Status and Progress Summary Report ndash The Contractor shall prepare and submit draft and final Monthly Status and Progress Summary Reports. Draft reports shall be forwarded to the Director of Applications by the 10th calendar day of the month following the reporting period. In addition, this Report shall be presented to the enterprise system project managers for discussion, if requested by the Director of Applications. A final report shall be submitted five days after receipt of government comments. This Report and presentation may be delivered in conjunction with the presentation of the Contractorrsquos Weekly Contract Status and Progress Review. Independently operate electron beam accelerators, in a safe and reliable manner. Maintain Operation records and Logbooks. Understand how to startup and shutdown the accelerator equipment. Act as the primary control person for radiation safety during operations, including entry into the target rooms and accelerator areas. Understand the setup and organization of the EPICS computer control system for the accelerators. Be able to find the proper EPICS screen for all operation needs and for troubleshooting accelerator problems. Perform work required to reconfigure the wiggler magnets for each new operation. This includes bolting and unbolting multiple large cables and heavy copper bus bar plates. Perform repairs on electronic equipment, including power supplies, process controllers, klystron modulators, RF generators, safety circuits, vacuum instrumentation, AC and DC power, and optics, using oscilloscopes and digital multimeters and other test equipment and tools. Carry out semi-annual testing of the Personnel Protection System (PPS) using the supplied PPS Test procedure. Perform assigned tasks in the installation and maintenance of accelerator-related systems, including the DI water cooling system, other plumbing subsystems, and the lab compressed air system. Be able able to troubleshoot and repair air cylinders and other equipment using compressed air. Design and construct electronic circuitry using supplied circuit diagrams, layout drawings and instructions. Provide technical assistance to faculty, students and outside researchers as requested. Follow all DFELL and Duke Safety policies and procedures. Remain up-to-date on all required Safety Training. Demonstrate a consistent ability to work in a professional manner with all other staff in the lab, and with local and visiting researchers. The FEL accelerators are operated on a shift schedule, day shift, evening shift, and for some weeks in a year night shift.
