Nature of Work This position supports the internal andexternal stakeholders at the University of Colorado South Denver (CU SouthDenver) and is responsible for front-facing customer programs, services andoperations including Welcome Desk, Theater and Museum operations, andEducational Program operations and delivery. Responsibilities in this positioninclude greeting, directing and enhancing the CU South Denver experience forall patrons including the public, K-12 and higher education; selling admissiontickets utilizing computerized point-of-sale system; following checklistroutines for point-of-sale stations which includes operating multiple softwareprograms and applications simultaneously; delivering educational and publicprograms on a regular basis; monitoring galleries and exhibits; handlingcustomer service requests and collaborating with the appropriate personnel; andoverall, professionally coordinating effective communication across multipledepartments within and outside of CU South Denver. In addition, CustomerCoordinators maintain and monitor all museum and public spaces and report stepsneeded to improve these areas to the Assistant Director of Business andCustomer Operations, and/or Assistant Vice Chancellor for Strategy andOrganizational Effectiveness. Professional Field Customer Service, Guest Services,Customer Operations, Education, Cashiering Supervision Exercised None Examples of Work Performed: · Present andmaintain an organized, positive, welcoming environment for all CU Denver Southvisitors and customers. · Respond torequests from guests, supervisors, andmanagement in a timely, professional, and effective manner · Collaboratewith manager and other CU staff to ensure information requests is communicatedaccurately to visitors or directed to the appropriate unit. · Maintaincomponents of the Museum and public spaces as required, including Globeology,Theatre, K12 classroom, the Art Gallery, temporary exhibits, Science on aSphere and the Welcome Desk. · Supportevents. · Participatein organized training and staff meetingsto learn new aspects of the job and retain current information on CU, events,and general campus operations. · Facilitatesales by operating a point-of-sale system · Develop an understanding of cash policy; participate inrelevant training, follow cash- handlingprocedures as required by policy in an ethical and accurate way. · Recognizesecurity risks concerning inventory stock and cash; remain knowledgeable onprevention of security issues and how to handle these situations; followestablished security procedures. · Due to awide range of possible questions from visitors and customers, be adaptable inoffering assistance; follow escalation procedures as needed. · Answermuseum phone and greet individuals and groups as needed; answer customer emailsin a timely fashion. · Communicateprofessionally across the organization, including by email, phone and inperson. At theWelcome Desk: · Greetvisitors and customers with a professionalism and a welcoming, warm style · Facilitateticket sales for all events and programs, applying discounting where required · Upsell filmswith general admission purchase (combo tickets) · Managecheck-in processes for events · Create IDbadges for students, staff, and faculty and answering questions. In the Theater as Projectionist: · Operatedigital projector and all components foreach movie showing, including maintaining proper sound and lighting. · Monitortheater doors and ticketing. · Report anytechnical problems to manager and IT Department. · Ensure that3D glasses are cleaned and polished on a daily basis. Sweep theater and remove trash between showsand at end of the day. Clean and maintain projection booth. · Providenecessary projection services for special events, as assigned. In Delivery of Education Programs: Assist withlogistics for keeping groups organized in their visits to CU South Denver · Assist withdelivering programs on a weekly basis to groups visiting the facility · Workcollaboratively with the volunteers providing assistance in program delivery · Makesuggestions to manager for improvements in program delivery As a Floater: · Interfacewith the visitors and customers to minimize any factors that may negatively impact their experiences. · Maintain afriendly and approachable demeanor at all times. · Ensure allMuseum and public spaces are clean and operating properly. Monitor all exhibitareas for maintenance concerns (e.g., spills, broken exhibits). Monitor visitor behavior(e.g., no food/drink policy); report anything out of the ordinary to security. Qualifications MinimumQualifications: Experience providing excellent and quality customer service to multiple constituents. Minimum 12 months customer service, cash handling and computerized POS system experience preferred. Some college preferred. DIME Detroit has partnered with Metropolitan State University of Denver to offer Bachelor of Arts degrees in Commercial Music Performance (guitar, bass, drums and vocals), Commercial Songwriting, and Music Industry Studies. Students take classes in Techniques and Improvisation, Live Performance Workshop, Music Theory, Domestic Music Market, and many more relevant classes. Students also enroll in general studies courses that are required of all MSU Denver students. These include English, Math, Art, Public Speaking, Theater, History and others. DIME Detroit is custom built for serious musicians who desire a long-term, professional career in today’s commercial music industry.
