The Account Manager is accountable for day-to-day operations of an assigned account, including hiring, training, disciplining and terminating staff. Build, improve and maintain relationships with clients and employees: develop & retain staff; coordinate needed support services and solve problems to effectively run the account. The Director of FYE and Onboarding also oversees general operations of Title III, and other grant programs as assigned. Through Student Success Teams, the Director of FYE and Onboarding is responsible for providing a broad range of services designed to ensure the retention, success, and completion of first-year students through academic monitoring and referral to academic counseling, guidance, and other appropriate support services. The Director of FYE and Onboarding works collaboratively with academic divisions and instructional faculty to support the college’s implementation of Guided Pathways through coordination of onboarding efforts, including the New Student Experience and the college’s new case management approach for all entering students. Assignment Responsibilities Typical duties may include, but are not limited to: ● Overseeing the expansion of the college’s new onboarding and first-year support program. ● Overseeing the development, implementation, and coordination of high impact practices and targeted activities to eliminate opportunity and achievement gaps and improve the academic success, persistence, and completion of participating students. ● Coordinating with the appropriate Student Services deans, and collaborating with Mathematics, English, and other academic departments, to support implementation of the college’s Guided Pathways initiative through an integrated and holistic approach to retention and completion of first-year students. ● Overseeing and coordinating all aspects of Title III and other grant programs as necessary, including budget oversight and report submissions. ● Coordinating and leading efforts to ensure first-year students transitioning to ARC are able to participate in programs such as California Completion Grant, Los Rios Promise programs, etc. ● Overseeing and co-coordinating programs that support inclusion and equity, including summer transitional experiences focused on underrepresented groups at ARC. ● Supporting implementation of the college’s case management approach in General Counseling. ● Developing a communications plan and messaging for communications to first-year students using multiple platforms. ● Working collaboratively with the Student Success Teams to develop programming each semester, including workshops and events designed to increase and support student engagement, retention, and success. ● Developing and implementing a needs assessment and intake process to support student transitions to ARC and identify appropriate resources and services the students may need. ● Developing and implementing of a peer mentoring program. ● Coordinating with Institutional Effectiveness to evaluate strategies focused on improving the experience for new students. ● Overseeing budget expenditures and the establishment of systems, collection of data, and maintenance of records necessary for budget audit trails, project evaluation, and reporting requirements. ● Developing written materials and reports related to implementation of first-year programs, and presenting at campus committees, departmental meetings, and workshops. ● Hiring, supervising, training, and evaluating certificated and classified staff as assigned. ● Performing other duties as assigned. Have a master’s degree from an accredited institution completed by June 1, 2019. 2. Have one year of formal training, internship, or leadership experience reasonably related to the administrator’s administrative assignment 3. Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment.
