We have a terrific leadership and growth opportunity available We are looking for a Principal Architect to join our Architecture Engineering Services team to be accountable for influencing and leading the transformation of our Health division's digital assets We are moving their assets with our delivery teams towards PublicPrivate Cloud solutions. It is an exciting time at Wolters Kluwer The Architecture Engineering Services team is part of Wolters Kluwer Global Business Services (GBS). GBS is designed to provide services to the business units in the areas of technology, sourcing, procurement, legal, finance, and accounting which includes our North American-Accounting Center. These global centers promote team collaboration using best practices around a specific focus area to drive results and enhance operational efficiencies. There is a constant endeavor to benchmark against best-in-class industry standards to improve the quality of deliverables, increase cost savings, enhance productivity and reduce time to market for products and applications. Location Although the preferred location for the home office is in the MA state (close to any of our Boston, Waltham or Norwood locations), working in New York, NY, or remote location close to these office locations is acceptable - with the expectation - that the incumbent will able to commute to these offices on a regular basis and be willing to travel across North America, to support the business and the division as needed. The Architecture Engineering Services team provides compliant cost-effective services, which align to industry best practices and our company values. This is accomplished by using people with business knowledge, technical expertise and a strong team work ethic. You will work alongside our Health Business Relationship Manager providing thought leadership to shape and influence the Health division's strategic direction in their consumption of current advanced technologies. This role is primarily focused within the US and you will be working with an established Principal Architecture team consisting of 5 architects. In addition, you will be also part of a wider global Architecture team which consists of more than 30 Architects. In this role you will be expected to work within a Matrix based organization and have strong collaboration and communication skills. You will have the opportunity to promote and drive three key strategic transformative delivery programs, Journey to the Cloud (J2C), Data Center Consolidation (DCC) which are transitioning and transforming our applications towards the PublicPrivate Cloud, Disaster Recovery which is aimed at reducing business risk. Within this context, as a Principal Architect you will take accountability for the end to end delivery of solutions against a predefined scope of work within these programs. This will include leading technical teams which will include Domain Architects, Solution Architects, Engineers, and other essential roles. You will be ensuring the Strategic fit of the PublicPrivate Cloud solutions through an existing Architecture Governance Framework, where you will be expected to champion your solutions through review milestones. Strategy and Architecture Ensures that all stakeholders adhere to IT strategic management approach and timetables. Develops and communicates plans to drive forward the strategy. Contributes to the development of policies, standards and guidelines for IT strategy development and planning. Specifies and applies appropriate analytical techniques to create information which supports business decision-making. Formats and communicates results, using textual, numeric, graphical and other visualization methods appropriate to the target audience. Collaborates with, and facilitates stakeholder groups, as part of formal or informal consultancy agreements. Seeks to fully address client needs, enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of client personnel, by ensuring that proposed solutions are properly understood and appropriately exploited. Reviews information systems for compliance with legislation and specifies any required changes. Responsible for ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures and overall information management strategy. Actively monitors for, and seeks, opportunities, new methods, trends, capabilities and products to the advancement of the organization. Captures and prioritizes market and environmental trends, business strategies and objectives, and identifies the business benefits of alternative strategies. Establishes the contribution that technology can make to business objectives, conducting feasibility studies, producing high-level business models, and preparing business cases. Development and implementation Specifies and designs large or complex systems. Selects appropriate design standards, methods and tools, consistent with agreed enterprise and solution architectures and ensures they are applied effectively. Reviews others' systems designs to ensure selection of appropriate technology, efficient use of resources, and integration of multiple systems and technology. Contributes to policy for selection of architecture components. Ensures that the system design balances functional, service quality, security and systems management requirements. Leads a team, providing expert technical knowledge in the systems testing of platform-specific versions of the software products, on varying platforms. Provides specialist guidance information to support, systems testing and quality assurance functions to assist in improving procedures. Relationships Engagement Researches suppliers and markets, and maintains a broad understanding of the commercial environment, to inform and develop commercial strategies and sourcing plans. Advises on the business case for alternative sourcing models, and on policy and procedures covering the selection of suppliers, tendering, and procurement. Leads procurement teams, managing tender, evaluation and acquisition processes. Identifies the communications needs of each stakeholder group in conjunction with business owners and subject matter experts. Facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders, acting as a single point of contact by developing, maintaining and working to stakeholder engagement strategies and plans. Negotiates with stakeholders at senior levels, ensuring that organizational policy and strategies are adhered to. Provides informed feedback to assess and promote understanding. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field, or at least 5 years of relevant experience. 7 years IT Experience with at least 5 years' experience within an Architecture Role Preferred Architecture Certification TOGAF, ARCHIMATE, ZACHMAN AWS Certified Solution Architect Associate or Professional Preferred Prefer a Security or Information Security Certification CISSP, CompTIA Security, CEHA At least 4 years leadership experience, leading migration and transformation of infrastructure resources to the Public Cloud (Strongly prefer AWS, but Azure is doable). Recent experience within Architecture, Design and implementation of complex, highly available and highly scalable solutions, including Disaster Recovery and Containers in Amazon AWS, strongly preferred. Recent working experience of Health Industry related compliance such as HiPPA, HiTrust FDASIA - Strongly Preferred as our Internal Client and the Applications are within the Healthcare Vertical. Prefer experience in an enterprise wide Architectural governance, framework, and ensuring all solutions within your division are capturing and aligning to architecture decisions, exceptions, standards etc. Prefer experience developing complex business cases and promoting and presenting these to technical and non-technical stakeholders Project management skills some financialbudget management, required scheduling and resource management Recent experience in defining and working within traditional waterfall, Agile Or Scrum DevOPS environments Prefer Recent experience of working within CI CD pipelines A broad working knowledge of Information Security and how to implement technologies to provide compliant solutions Prefer Recent experience of negotiating, presenting and selling complex business cases.
