Nemours radiology services are integrated within a single PACS with faculty working from common work-lists. In 2017, nearly 300,000 imaging examinations were performed in the system. Faculty are licensed in Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida and credentialed throughout the system. By creating an integrated Nemours-wide Radiology department, there is a critical mass of 38 pediatric radiologists, making it one of the largest pediatric radiology faculty in the nation. This critical mass has enabled marked improvement in report turn-around times, increased sub-specialization, dramatic increase in academic productivity, development of partner relationships with other hospital systems, and work on system-wide quality improvement and safety initiatives. The Nemours Division of Interventional Radiology with 8 full time FTEā€™s spans three integrated campuses and will soon be among the largest pediatric IR divisions in the country. The Division runs vascular anomaly, musculoskeletal, liver, diagnostic neuro, oncology and trauma services within the enterprise which will encompass over 8000 procedures this year. Job Description Interviews patients, obtains and records health histories, completes physical and developmental assessments, diagnoses health problems, manages the health care of those patients for which he/she has been educated, provides health care teaching and counseling, initiates referrals and maintains health records. Provides medical and nursing care to pediatric patients with acute or chronic illnesses, with a patient/family centered care focus. Elicits comprehensive or focused/interval health history(ies). Performs complete or focused physical examinations. Orders, performs, and/or interprets diagnostic or screening tests. Orders and interprets radiographs and ultrasounds within the ARNP scope of practice. Develops and revises treatment plans. Initiates, monitors, alters, or orders medications related to conditions or illnesses being treated within applicable divisions. Orders IV fluids and additives Refers clients to other health care professionals and agencies as appropriate for specialized services, including but not limited to: other medical subspecialists, physical and occupational therapy, nutritional counseling and management, special education, growth and development/behavioral counseling. Develops or approves in-school management plans for patients as appropriate. Makes dietary, activity/exercise, counseling, education and health promotion recommendations within the ARNP scope of practice. Initiates any other measure/procedure for which the ARNP has been trained depending on patients condition and judgment of the physician and the ARNP. Documents the above activities in the Electronic Medical Record. Complies with the HIPAA Regulations. Complies with OSHA/Safety Regulations. Adheres to Nemours Customer Service Standards and Standards of Behavior. All other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Minimum of two (2) years Pediatric nursing experience required. Nemours is recruiting a Division Chief, Neonatology at Nemours Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Childrenā€™s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This is a level IV outborn NICU with complete surgical and medical support in a single-room intensive care unit in the Childrenā€™s Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware. Ideally situated, Wilmington is a city of 70,000 located in the beautiful Brandywine Valley, just 45 minutes from Philadelphia and within a few hoursā€™ drive of Atlantic beaches, the Pocono Mountains, Baltimore, Washington and New York. The Division Chief will lead a group of physicians, NNPs and neonatal fellows. The program continues to expand with the growth of the Nemours network throughout the Delaware Valley. A new state-of-the-art, single-room NICU expansion is being designed for an opening in 2017. Many innovative clinical programs are being built, and we are seeking an energetic individual to lead our team of enthusiastic neonatologists. The Nemours Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children has the only organized neonatal and pediatric ECMO transport program in the region. The referral base includes Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland and New Jersey. Academically, Nemours is the pediatric partner of Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia. The ideal candidate will have 10 to 15 years of clinical experience and a proven history in a leadership role. Clinical research or clinical educator background is preferred with an academic record that will support an Assistant Professor or higher academic ranking. Requirements: 10-15 years of experience. Board-certified in Neonatology. Appropriate for Assistant Professor of Pediatrics or a higher academic rank. Clinical research background preferred. ECMO experience preferred. Responsibilities include: Collaborate with leadership to create, seek, and execute strategic initiatives to further Nemours mission. Identify and obtain resources to optimize clinic services and achieve goals for patient access, patient volume, physician availability and training, productivity and quality improvement. Patient safety and quality of care working with the Medical Director to ensure clinical quality improvement and patient safety. Delivery of medical care to inpatient NICU patients in the 24-hour, in-house coverage model. Prenatal consultations for pregnant patients with anticipated need for complex care. Contribution to an environment which enhances professional development of division members with the goal of achieving a highly motivated physician and allied professional group. Recruitment and retention of well-trained and qualified professional staff to the division within the clinical needs and compensation policies of Nemours. Exemplifies and supports division members in educating and ensuring that the Nemours Standards of Behavior are practiced by all staff. Scholarly activities include the education of pediatric residents and fellows in neonatology, a requirement for active research and support of the Nemours research strategy. Serve as the ā€˜faceā€™ of neonatology and build external relationships, expand the sphere of influence, advocate for improvements and change within the division and seek external support and philanthropy. Fiscal stewardship and operational management in partnership with department administration. Focus on patient satisfaction and maintaining a family-centric environment and culture to ensure service and operational excellence that maximize patient satisfaction, outcomes and impact within and beyond Nemours. Regular attendance at Pediatric departmental meetings and general medical staff meetings as required by hospital and departmental bylaws. Maintenance of accurate and up-to-date medical records and summaries as required by hospital and department bylaws. Participation in quality improvement, service improvement and leadership activities, including patient satisfaction and safety initiatives, risk management and peer review activities. Maintenance of board certification as required by employers.
