The location is flexible as the BCDL may be based out of locations within the BC including: Burlington, MA, Boston, Providence, New York City, Auburn, NH, and Fairfax, VA. The BCDL partners with the business center managing leader (BCML) and the business center sector leaders (BCSLs) to foster a culture of consistent quality and delivery excellence through a people-centric approach that facilitates collaboration, innovation, creativity and industry leading best practices, is fit for purpose to support the breadth of Stantec's clients and project needs, and guides dependable, repeatable project delivery. Your Role and Responsibilities The BCDL's focus is on driving consistent project governance through developing a BC project delivery culture of:robust project planningincorporating lessons learnedIntellectual Property (IP) captureperforming project reviewsconfirming quality management plans and quality reviewson-time and on-budget deliverymanaging performance to reduce riskand increase client satisfaction In practice, the above function is more than communication and auditing of our project teams' compliance with protocols and practices. The BCDL also gets actively engaged with project teams (particularly with developing and distressed teams) to coach & mentor them on best practices in project execution through hands on delivery. In coordination with the RDL, the BCDL brings the Delivery aspect to the team and facilitates the link between BC staff and the Chief Engineers, Engineering Discipline Leaders (EDLs), the Delivery Center and RNet. The BCDL will also coordinate with this team regarding staff training, career development & mentoring, and employee engagement by connecting staff to aide in diversifying their experience. Overall, within this team, the BCDL is responsible for dissemination and facilitating adoption of standards, protocols, best practices, and training as related to project execution; and for attracting top technical expertise to the business center. The BCDL is intimately familiar with and understands BC project execution needs (ongoing and forecasted) and proactively supports resourcing to meet these project needs. Based on this understanding, the BCDL will promote work sharing across BC boundaries. This objective focuses on the benefits of knowledge transfer, resource leveling and accessibility and overall resiliency of our global water business. In this function, the BCDL is responsible for engaging and coaching the BC and its project teams in the best practices to successfully deliver projects in a virtual team approach and through the engagement with the Delivery Center and RNet and meeting the respective work sharing metrics. The BCDL is responsible for Project Technical Leadership (PTL) coaching, development and training and collaborates with the RDL to review PTL project assignments and performance regarding PM Frameworks compliance and quality management. The BCDL supports the RDL in reviewing, supporting, promoting, and coaching staff through the risk process and ensures the appropriate level of review is conducted for risk reviews. Quality: The BCDL shall ensure full adherence to the PM Framework, maintaining ISO and audit compliance. Marketing and Business Development:Work cooperatively with the BCSLs and BCML by identifying the right person on the right project, providing risk review, and providing support for pursuits within the BC and region.Proactively use, promote, and manage the Stantec Pipeline for business development pursuits. Financial Management : Assist with developing the annual business plan and budget for the business line with respect to technical, training, strategic recruits, resources and recruiting strategies.
