Job DescriptionR.N. with a minimum of 4 years' experience preparing Minimum Data Set 3.0 Assessments sought for a part-time position.  The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented; possess an understanding of Skilled Nursing Facility Medicare and Medicaid case-mix reimbursement; and, is able to effectively and succinctly communicate review findings both in verbal and professionally-written form. The candidate must also be willing to learn and become proficient in understanding the Patient-Driven Payment Model to assist the company's client base. Candidate can be based anywhere within the United States. TravelThe job will require travel anytime there is an onsite audit or review of a nursing facility. Usually these audits will be two to three days, but can sometimes be longer. Travel will most often involve two to four days per week (as well as the reimbursement of travel expenses). Duties will include: Provision of clinical reimbursement consultation to various long-term care providers. Conducting on-site analysis of MDS assessment work product and Medicare processes (including system analysis) while identifying provider opportunities for improvement. Writing reports to summarize audit and consultant review findings to include corrective action plan recommendations, as needed. Providing on-site training and education related to MDS and Medicare processes, as needed. Periodic participation in mock survey activities when requested by clients. Communicating and interacting with client/facility personnel in a professional and inviting manner to maintain strong partnerships and continued satisfaction with delivery of consulting services. Work and travel with other clinical team members. Willing and able to receive direction from the audit team leader. Frequent travel Skill and License Requirements Detailed and accessible understanding of Skilled Nursing Facility Medicare/PPS and case-mix Medicaid reimbursement, including fundamental understanding of “building block basics†(ADL coding conventions; RUG category qualifiers; etc.) Detailed and accessible understanding of the RAI User's Manual Ability to convey regulatory information and system analysis/improvement recommendations to facility staff, both during the facility visit and in writing Computer and language/writing skills to include document preparation in Microsoft Word.
