DUTIES: Assists with the following daily activity needs of the Surgical and Interventional Training Center (SITC) * Assures that equipment is available for each activity as requested * Assures rooms are set-up according to customer requests and that room * clean-up occurs per SITC procedures * Assists with maintaining an adequate inventory for disposable and non-disposable * surgical instruments and medical supplies * Provides effective customer service to assure client satisfaction with the CAMLS * experience * Assures that proper safety procedures are followed by faculty, participants and pool staff * Assists in additional tasks as directed by CAMLS/SITC manager * Assists with program needs * Functions as scrub tech/first assist for surgical activities and/or studies conducted in SITC * Assures instruments are cleaned or sterilized according to customer requests and SITC procedure * Assures instruments are properly secured and stored * Assists with cadaveric specimens * Assures that tissue specimens are correct (for the activity) and properly thawed * Assists with setup of tissue specimens * Assists with the proper disposal of tissue specimens QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum: * This position requires a High School diploma and graduation from an accredited Surgical Technician program. Preferred: * Certified as a Surgical Technician through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assistant, preferred. * Familiarity with medical terminology and human anatomy. * Experience in operating standard Operating Room equipment, such as, surgical instruments, endoscopy, sterilizers and instrument washers. * Available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
