Job ID: 39201 Software Engineer Our client is looking for a Software Engineer to join their team in downtown Portland. Software Engineer Responsibilities Designing, coding, testing, maintaining and implementing back-end Microsoft SQL Server database objects and SSIS packages used to process inbound and outbound transactions with our business partners. Developing and maintaining Microsoft .NET applications, leveraging C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript, jQuery, etc. Working with Business Analysts and other teammates to understand business requirements/processes to provide technical and system support. Creating technical design documents. Maintain existing programs and systems. Design and develop new programs and systems as part of the implementation of new business requirements. Work with clients to identify and understand requirements to satisfy business processes/requirements. Develop detailed technical design specifications, which include file layouts, program functions and job flow. Implementing and testing database design and functionality, and tuning for performance. Develop and maintain documentation of all objects associated with a project. Ensure that new systems integrate into current batch cycles. Assist with training and technical support of others on staff. Maintain a detailed working knowledge of the business unit(s) being supported. Perform other duties as assigned. Software Engineer Qualifications Bachelor s degree in relevant field (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Services, or similar) with 3 years experience; or 7 years of relevant computer programming experience. Experience working with relational database design, development, and support (SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, etc.). Experience working with complex database objects in SQL Server. Intermediate/advanced ability to create web applications with ASP.NET and related technologies. Experience in systems analysis. Knowledge of basic database security practices. Willingness to participate in 24x7 on-call rotation. Strong interpersonal communication skills required. Strong analytical thinking and adept at problem solving. Ability to work well under pressure, work with frequent interruptions, and shifting priorities. Maintain confidentiality and project a professional business image. Ability to reliably come to work on time and on a daily basis. Preferred: Experience working with TFS/VSTS strongly preferred. Experience in health insurance, Cognizant/Trizetto Facets is a plus. We are seeking an Epic ECSA Application Engineering SME to manage, analyze, architect and engineer the client, server and delivery infrastructure for Epic applications across the enterprise. This position has multiple levels. This position will have some operational work, but will be more focused on designing, implementation and supporting the client-server systems environment for Epic Windows Services Servers and client software such as Interconnect, Hyperspace, EPS, Web BLOB, Hyerspace Web and other Epic Windows based applications. The SME will also assist other Epic 3rd party applications teams with their integration into Epic as needed which can include assisting with the design, architecture and documentation. Working at local, regional and enterprise levels the Subject Matter Expert strives towards the common goal of application performance, standardization, automation and efficiency.
