Primary Duties: • Prepare, examine and interpret LAS Reports pertaining to loan exceptions, paid loans, collateral insurance, and payment protection and dealer reserve funds and effectively communicate the results of the review Execute loan audits on closed/funded loans (post-closing) and gather applicable loan files requested by internal and external auditors Perform non-accrual and charge-off loan processing and monitoring Life of loan tracking for collateral insurance, taxes and flood determinations; Record setup in third party data systems utilized in tracking/monitoring of tax, flood and insurance records Reconcile periodic reports from the credit union’s loan accounting system (LAS) and make general ledger entries to settlement accounts Balance loan transactions to general ledger daily Record loan transactions within the core loan accounting system, such as loan disbursements, rate changes, and loan payment corrections, etc. Track all consumer loans and documents of title; Processes title work and UCC filings Ensure proper application of loan proceeds and payments and review loans for compliance and adherence to loan policy, guidelines, and procedures Interfaces with credit union vendors, legal counsel business partners As an ideal candidate, you will have : • Associates degree and required years of related experience for level I or II; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum one year experience in credit union/banking operations that includes lending, loan operations, auditing or a related function. Experience in a Centralized Loan Operations environment desired. Fundamental knowledge of accounting principles, bank accounting and/or general ledgers Familiar with loan servicing regulatory requirements including Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and/or Regulation Z (TILA) • Must be proficient in PC Skills (Microsoft Office Suite) with the ability to utilize basic and moderately complex computer systems to process transactions Must have excellent attention to detail, organization, critical thinking and basic math and problem solving skills and be accurate and reliable in work product Excellent communication skills including effective listening, problems solving and tact in working with members and colleagues What’s it really like to work here? Identifies learning gaps and opportunities and sets training strategies and priorities to achieve these goals and objectives; provides direct training feedback to ensure learning gaps are understood by the trainee. Assists the Manager, Training and Development in partnering with team members inside and outside of the Underwriting Department to provide educational opportunities to enhance and develop underwriting employee skills and knowledge. Must stay current on all procedural and process changes in order to properly facilitate training. Assists the underwriting compliance department in developing micro-training sessions to keep the underwriting department current on all regulatory compliance changes. Assists with on-boarding of new hires (i.e., obtaining user IDs, setting up work stations, reference materials etc.) on an as needed basis. Acts as the Rating Bureau administrator in order to establish user IDs for new employees. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree or 1-3 year of training and development experience along with 3-5 years underwriting department experience or an equivalent combination of both. Must have working knowledge and good grasp of workers’ compensation fundamentals and the state specific requirements. Must possess a sound working knowledge of MEMIC procedures and systems. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential. Must be able to foster positive working relationships with all members of staff. Strong interpersonal skills required. Must have excellent presentation skills. Strong facilitation and development skills preferred. Coaching and mentoring background preferred. Must be organized and detailed oriented with the highest level of technical accuracy. Proficient in computer skills a must (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint). Must be able to adapt to ever changing requirements within the organization. Knowledge and experience with various analysis & planning tools to include MoneyguidePro, EnvestNet analytics, Trust Service analytics and other tools. Excellent communication skills required in verbal and written communication, customer service, planning, organizational and making presentations. Good understanding of Wealth management model and team capabilities including a working knowledge of: How trust can be used for legacy planning; Stock option planning; Gift planning Financial planning to include retirement and cash flow planning Experience with Advisory platforms; Familiarity with all investment products offered within WMG Proven track record with Life Insurance including a working knowledge of how insurance can be used i.e., wealth protection, Liquidity Creation, Wealth accumulation, Wealth transfer.
