(During month end, hours may be longer and may need to work overtime but only during certain times of the month and not all the time) Pay Rate: $30.00 - $33.50 per hour Summary: The Accountant II assists in the maintenance of one or more accounting systems within the assigned function(s). In compliance with company policies and procedures, the Accountant II reviews and interprets financial reporting requirements, rules and regulations, including but not limited to Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP). Responsibilities: Follow company policies and procedures in the preparation of routine intercompany and/or interdivision reconciliation reports. Identify, analyze and interpret data of moderate scope; coordinate with appropriate personnel in the resolution of any discrepancies. Escalate more complex issues as necessary. May assist with activities related to month-, quarter-, and year-end consolidations, closings and/or financial statements. May assist with activities related to budgeting and forecasting. May participate in process reviews, business process analyses and internal control monitoring to ensure compliance with the specifications of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) within assigned function. Mentor other staff as applicable. Assist with diverse accounting and analytical projects. Responsible for the preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and reporting packages distributed to senior management for IFRS, management presentation and legal reporting hierarchies. Assist Senior Manager of Consolidations and Financial Reporting in the preparation of IFRS reporting requirements to the parent company, FMC KGaA. Prepare and analyze all necessary consolidated financial reports and analysis for completeness and accuracy and prepare report files for the submission of U.S. GAAP reporting packages to parent company, FMC KGaA. Responsible for the preparation, review and issuance of monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated management cash flow reports and analysis. Prepare detailed movement schedules for asset and liability increases and decreases. Close interaction with operating divisions to reconcile variances. Gain a thorough understanding of the SAP SEM upload system for submission of detailed financial statements to the parent company. Ability to troubleshoot system errors and resolve as necessary. Prepare and monitor consolidated movement schedules including fixed assets, intangibles and intercompany with affiliates. Assist with preparation of LTIP Bonus files as well as reconciliation of LTIP transactions. Education/Experience: Bachelors degree required 2 – 5 years’ related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent directly related work experience. SAP experience required Fixed Assets experience required Strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and email applications. Working knowledge of GAAP. Detail oriented with good analytical and organizational skills. Able to handle confidential information in a mature manner. Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license desirable. Budget Preparation Schedule and coordinate the preparation and presentation of the annual operating budget. Coordinate all aspects of the capital expenditures budget according to SOP. Capital Expenditure Control Control the Capital Expenditure program and complete ROI Analysis. Financial Objectives Complete entries required for preparation of the financial statements. Review statements for inaccurate data and make corrections within the following period. Inform the General Manager and HEI Corporate management of current and potential financial problems. Keep management informed of sales and profit attainment throughout the period. Coordinate the property's labor management system. Accounts Receivable Maintain appropriate standards for 60-90 day accounts. Conform to standards regarding the average collection period. Documenting the local credit policy and auditing property compliances. Approve all major accounts for credit as defined by local policy. Conduct credit and write-off meetings as requested. Submit accurate and timely critiques and credit loss reports as required. Review all major banquet functions and group accounts for proper credit extensions prior to arrival. Maintain standard regarding level of bad debt expenses as related to credit sales. Aggressively fulfill the accounts receivable management responsibilities to maximize receivable realizations. Responses to Corporate Staff Complete financial required reports and requests from HEI Corporate offices. Establish other reports or documents, outside of SOP's as needed. Balances in Asset and Liability Accounts Reconcile account balances on a current basis. Establish balances in accruals, pre-paid, and other accounts using proper accrual methods and expense realization logic. Calculate various turn ratios and days available for major asset categories and compare to standards (linen, gift shop, food, beverages, guest supplies, and uniforms). Work with Department Managers to control inventory balances according to established realistic pars. Comply with company procedures on deferring payments. Management of Department Maintain and update job descriptions and standards for department. Ability to comply with corporate and local policies for wages paid (increases and timing). Establish an effective cross training program within the department. Identify, screen and attract management candidates from outside the company. Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis. Perform any other job duties as assigned.
