Job Description Maintains all process control computers including network cards, wiring and communications. Maintains operator interface software including database and graphical modifications. Maintains PLC system hardware and software including any modifications or programming changes to meet process needs. Knowledgeable in all areas of instrumentation, including, but not limited to, pressure, temperature, level, flow, pH and conductivity. Maintains an instrument calibration program, which meets ISO 14001 requirements and ensures that all plant instrumentation is calibrated to required accuracies. Oversees electrical switchgear including 13.8 Kv substations and 440 V MCC gear. Maintain all computer peripherals including PC’s, network cards and cables, print servers and printers, Ethernet hubs and modems. Helps maintain correct spare parts inventory by ordering parts from suppliers. Operates in compliance with all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations. Performs housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work area. Complies with all corporate/plant policies and procedures. Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs all plant distribution, feeders, and branch circuits. Troubleshoots and repairs 30 VAC, 3.5 VDC to 180 VDC circuits, MCC, switch gear, branch circuits. Participates in plant-wide HSE, quality and productivity initiatives. Participates in the Safety Committee on a voluntary basis. Participates in HSE activities, i.e. Toolbox meetings, BBS audits, accident investigations, Hazard identification, etc. Performs special projects or other duties as directed. Job Requirements High school diploma required. Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Electronics or Instrumentation preferred. Desired: Experience with GE RX3i and Cimplicity. Familiarity with NFPA national Electric Code as it applies to a plant environment. Minimum of (8) years of experience as an Instrumentation Technician in an industrial plant environment. Must pass an E&I standardized test with a 75 percentile of national averages. Knowledge of Allen Bradley Contrologix desired. Able to follow written verbal and oral instruction. Able to demonstrate analytical and troubleshooting skills. Good interpersonal skills, works well within a team environment. Must demonstrate a strong work ethic (attendance, attitude, etc.).
