Job Description: SUNY Empire State College seeks a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Information Technology for its newly approved online Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) program. This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated candidate interested in growing a new degree program in the high demand field of Information Technology that can have a worldwide reach. The successful candidate will serve as the inaugural coordinator of the MSIT program. The incumbent will work with faculty from across the college to develop and teach online courses in the areas such as information security, networking, web design, enterprise systems architecture, mobile systems development, and IT emerging technology. The role will also advise students; engage in collaborative research related to information technology; provide service to the division, school, and college; and work with college-wide offices to forge successful partnerships with other colleges and industry. While the appointment will primarily be in the School for Graduate Studies, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to information technology courses and programs across the college. Yes Ad Text Job Summary SKIDMORE COLLEGE DEPARTMENT OF THEATER invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track, assistant or associate professor to teach key undergraduate courses in directing, acting and related disciplines. We are particularly interested in applicants who can contribute to the growing diversity and excellence of the academic community through their teaching, research, creative work and service. A successful candidate will teach 18 credits per year (approximately five courses), direct one department production per year (this work counts toward the 18 credit workload), participate in college shared governance and department affairs, maintain an active professional that may include a variety of practices, production venues, and performance modalities, and have an established research agenda. The position will begin in Fall 2019. The salary will be commensurate with experience. A terminal degree (MFA minimum, doctorate preferred) in theatrical directing/acting or related discipline and extensive professional experience required. The successful candidate will have a record of professional accomplishment as a theater artist and demonstrated excellence in teaching and directing in the academic theater, with an active and sustained research agenda. We are particularly interested in a candidate with expertise in teaching directing and acting from beginner through advanced levels from pedagogical perspectives that may include Western, non-Western, and/or global theater practices. The ability to teach movement for the stage, stage combat, acting styles, acting Shakespeare, or clowning/physical comedy would be welcome. Candidates should describe their personal and professional contributions to a diverse set of undergraduates, and should feel free to make mention of any specific knowledge, skills, and abilities related to building a diverse and inclusive educational environment. Academic administrative experience, and the ability to teach in other theater sub-disciplines are also desirable qualities of a strong candidate. Skidmore offers an intensive Bachelor of Science degree in theater that balances serious pre-professional training, with a strong commitment to the liberal arts.
