Department Wesleyan Honors Academy Responsibilities Recruit high schools as participants in the Wesleyan Honors Academy program. Develop relationships with teachers and guidance counselors in Nebraska high schools that will facilitate placing the program in the high schools. Work with school administrators to set up the Honors Academy program in their high schools. Provide management support to participating high schools, students and teachers. Assist Program Director with processing faculty applications. Provide support to students and parents by answering questions and assisting with application process. Implement special student recruitment programs by holding open houses and information sessions with parents, teachers, school administrators, and students. Provide review of participating teachers and ensure class materials meet University standards for college level instruction. Assist departmental coordinators with review and assessment of classroom instruction. Visit high school classrooms of participating English teachers, assist teachers in meeting program standards, and provide Director with evaluation of programs and English teachers in each assigned high school. Qualifications Prior experience as an Honors Academy teacher with a focus or specialization in English. A minimum of three years of teaching experience in high school environment is required. Experience in high school curriculum development. Understanding of problems and concerns high school teachers and students face. Ability to develop and implement recruiting programs with targeted high schools. Strong ability to build relationships with high school teachers and administrators in a professional manner to enhance recruitment efforts. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with faculty and students. Must have a vehicle, license to drive, and good driving record. Must be able to travel 50 – 60% of the time through the state of Nebraska to various high schools; mostly day trips with some overnight stays. Must have an understanding of liberal arts education. Must have good interpersonal and written communication skills. Must possess good management and organizational skills. Must be flexible, able to manage several projects simultaneously, work with interruptions, and be able to meet deadlines. Assistant Professor of Business Status Nebraska Wesleyan University is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Business to teach Business Administration courses beginning in August of 2019. Department Business, Accounting, and Economics Responsibilities Faculty responsibilities include teaching twelve credit hours per term, fall and spring semesters, including day/evening, undergraduate/graduate and traditional/accelerated classes. Assistant Professor of Digital Media Status Nebraska Wesleyan University’s Art Department invites applicants for a full-time Assistant Professor of Digital Media within the Art Department. This is a 9-month, tenure-track position scheduled to begin in August 2019. The successful candidate will have experience in two or more of the following areas: web-based art, interactive/time-based art, animation, digital photography, and digital graphic arts. Department Art Department Responsibilities This individual will work with BA/BFA students and non-majors and will teach, among other courses at a broad range of levels, Basic Design, Graphic and Web Design, Digital Photography, and Intro to Video and Animation. Ideal candidates will have strong graphic and web design skills that are relevant within fine art contexts. This faculty member will participate in undergraduate advising and faculty service work, work in collaboration with other departments, and will be expected to participate and teach in our innovative Archway Curriculum. The successful applicant will report to the Chair of the Art Department. NWU is a liberal arts university whose faculty is expected to excel at teaching and be active in both scholarship and service.
